The process Several days before the end of the British Mandate, groups of the Irgun (a paramiliatares Zionist organizations that was developed at that time) carried out a cruel attack on the village of Deir Yassin. Men, women and children were killed, sparking panic among the Arab population. Then begins the exodus of Palestinian families to neighboring countries.
While it was internationally considered that the first attack was perpetrated by the League of Arab States, it is necessary to take account of Israeli attacks against Palestinian civilians that had been occurring since before partition. The Israeli occupation and clashes with the Arab armies, as a result left some 750 000 Palestinian refugees in camps in Gaza, West Bank, Syria and Lebanon, and about 418 towns and villages destroyed.
