Impunity vs. Universal Jurisdiction

In February 2009, the Spanish National Court agreed to process a criminal complaint against seven Israeli soldiers for war crimes in the Gaza Strip during the army's indiscriminate attack from 27 December 2008 and January 18, 2009. According to the EFE news agency reported on March 16, 2010, the Defence Minister, Carme Chacon, signed with his Israeli counterpart, Ehud Barak, a memorandum of understanding to boost bilateral military cooperation, which will develop collaborative military projects .
